Virtual Recreation — In Collaboration with FOUNDRY
This project, an INVIDAR and FOUNDRY collaboration, involved a full 3D recreation of the Poole FOUNDRY space in Unreal Engine, designed to help potential business clients explore the venue remotely without the need for a physical visit.
To maximise accessibility, the project is pixel streamed using 'PureWeb', allowing high-FPS streaming on virtually any device—even without a high-end PC. The Unreal Engine build was substantial in size, providing an ideal opportunity to push the limits of pixel streaming technology.
Created prior to the introduction of ‘MegaLights’, lighting presented a major optimisation challenge. I focused heavily on model and texture efficiency, utilised Unreal’s optimisation tools extensively, and experimented with various lighting strategies to strike a balance between performance and visual fidelity. After rigorous testing and iteration, the result is a polished, high-performing interactive experience I’m genuinely proud of.
